15) I don't know if I'd define it as Professional and Hobby. I'd probably go with Seasoned Quilter versus Casual. Casual quilters go with kits 80 percent of the time. When they do make a pattern, they want it to be just like the picture.

12. varies - but I'm retired and if I get going on a new project - I can be sewing away for hours - I'd say at least 40 hours a week.
13. I am lucky enough to have a Janome 6600P - thanks to my husband - have had for two years and LOVE that machine.

TOO MANY TO MENTION.. SOMEONE WHO TEACHES WELL, AND TAKES THE TIME TO TEACH, AND SHOW..SOMEONE WHO IS PASSIONATE ABOUT QUILTING. SOMEONE WHO HAS A GOOD TECHNIQUE, OR CAN TEACH ME SOMETHING NEW.. SOMEONE WHO HAS LOTS OF PATIENCE..

MYSELF.. WATCHING QNN TV. FOR MANY HOURS.. LOTS OF MISTAKES

PIECING, BUT SINCE I LOVE LANDSCAPES I AM GETTING INTO APPLIQUE MORE.

I WORK FROM MY OWN PATTERNS, OR IF I SEE A QUILT THAT I LIKE, I MIGHT USE THE PIECING ARRANGEMENT TO GET THE BASIC SHAPE, AND THEN I WOULD MAKE IT MY OWN BY ADDING DETAILS, AND A NEW ARRANGEMENT TO IT. I NEVER USE THE SAME FABRICS, COLORS, OR ARRANGEMENT.

MY BERNINA QE 153 USED, AND THE BEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED FROM A VERY SPECIAL PERSON. SHE HAS SUPPORTED MY QUILTING ADDICTION BY GIVING ME THE ENCOURAGEMENT TO GO ON WHEN I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS ANY GOOD AT IT.
15) How do you spot a Professional Quilter from a Hobby Quilter? Is there a difference?
THE ANSWER IS IN WHAT THEY CREATE. ONE WHO IS A PROFESSIONAL IS PASSIONATE, AND THAT SHOWS IN WHAT THEY CREATE.

2) Lots of stuff, variety, pictures, being honest and yourself
3) My first one was Carol Doak, Now there are a lot. Even local teachers are good, if they share what they know and love what they do.
4) Took a class at a shop with a friend, plus I taught myself a lot of new things.
5) Piecing first but there are time I must do appliqué.
6) There is a time and a place for all things, mostly patterns.
7) I follow patterns, make changes, and design my own.
8 ) Don’t have one, but love batiks and most fabric.
